Financial Support

Graduate students are typically supported through a variety of means.  Until recently, NSF/EES/IGERT fellowships were available. Our funding for these fellowships has expired.

Financial aid is typically provided by your department, by the university or by outside sources, which students arrange themselves.

The EES program does NOT have funds to provide financial aid.

University Funding

The University has campus-wide fellowships available to U.S. residents and non-residents.  These fellowships are highly competitive. Departments also have very limited fellowship funds available for the best applicatants. Refer to Economics Department or Bren School websites for more information on these opportunities.

Teaching and Research Assistantships

The Department of Economics has a number of Teaching Assistantships that are awarded to strong applicants, regardless of residency.

Research assistantships are the primary non-fellowship means of support in the Bren School. These research assistantships are managed and allocated by individual faculty members. Students wishing to pursue these research assistantships should contact faculty directly. For details on specific faculty members please refer to the faculty web pages.
